BBC Radio Cornwall Interview: Self-acceptance in a digital age

Talking with Debbie McCroy on BBC Radio Cornwall, Malachy shares his thoughts on anxiety in a digital age, and how giving ourselves a more varied visual diet can help us find self-acceptance.

Here are some of our favourite bits:

“You know, I can tell you’re a counsellor or therapist, you’re just calm and you gaze at a person and you’re just interested in them.” (Debbie)

“You know, I think we all need a good listening to!” (Malachy)

“I see a lot of anxiety and distress around not conforming to a false norm… we feel determined to do our little bit to undermine those forces.” (M)

“this shame-based treadmill of trying to be something that we can’t ever be.” (M)

“We’re alright to be just the way we are.” (M)

“Let’s give ourselves a varied visual diet and rejoice in the diversity that is humanity.” (M)

Malachy also talks about our upcoming Body Positivity event and invites everyone, no matter your shape, size, age or experience to come along and spend time with other people interested in self-compassion and body-acceptance.
