Avril Gayne

Honesty · Empathy · Creativity

As a counsellor, I work integratively with a person-centred approach at the heart of my practice. I offer empathy, honesty and creativity to allow you to work through whatever issues you have in a safe confidential space.

I adapt my approach to suit you, as everyone is unique and I recognise that we all have different needs. This allows us to build trust and a working alliance to enable you to feel safe and confident to explore your emotions and feelings. This can help you to heal, grow, enable change and help you build resilience for the future.

I work with each individual to find ways to unlock inner feelings, fostering greater self-awareness, understanding and growth. Stone sculpts, drawing, visualisations, music, writing and colours can all provide helpful creative expression, as can working with breathe and somatics.

I have volunteered with the Samaritans, worked at universities, further education colleges and with a problem gambling charity as well as a general counselling agency.

I enjoy being in nature, walking my dog, cooking. baking and sewing and spending time with my family.

I offer face to face, telephone and online sessions.
